Why is it so hard for people to believe that there is life after 50 +

I have been alone since I lost my husband eleven years ago. In the small town where I live there are no available men even for the younger female.

Once a widow no matter what age you simply remain a widow. This is so sad because at 50+ I don't know about other seniors but for me my golden years would be so much more enjoyable with someone to share them with.

50 Plus

Hello Helen You sound so sad and I do feel for you. Fifty plus is no age and you have many more years to come. What have you done to find yourself a lovely man? You say there are no men in your small town - why not think about moving if you can afford to. Start a new life in a town buzzing with both men and women, get a job, do volunteering, anything to come into contact with others. I suppose dating sites are out of the question if you live in such a remote area but I make on-line friends with various men although I don't meet them, or very few, but as yet I've not found that special one. Honey I'm 75 years of age and I still like to trawl through the dating sites and get myself involved. Why can't you?

Chin up Helen and think things through and I'm sure there is someone out there who is probably feeling the same as you.

Regards. Milly UK
