Why I Fly United...

My most recent "plus size" love experience happened on an airplane recently. I was having my own "Kevin Smith" moment while flying on United Airlines during the holiday season of 2009.

I had already purchased my standard two seats (I weigh 425 pounds and, like Kevin, can afford to buy 2 seats) and had settled in for the flight when I noticed a stewardess beside me. She asked if I would give up my two seats so that a newlywed couple could go home for the holidays. I was irritated because I had not noticed her ask anyone else to give up their seat--just the fat man, eh? The stewardess must have noticed my hesitation for she offered me a sizeable (pun intended?) voucher with United, so I took it.

I left the plane and took my drink voucher to the United lounge where I met a wonderful woman--Denise--and we hit it off right away. She was a full figured woman and hours passed as we talked in the lounge. She almost missed her flight!

I got her number (she actually gave it to me unasked) and called her right after the new year. We have met twice and talk to one another constantly. This relationship is going to work out, I can feel it.
