SeniorFriendFinder is a longstanding over-40s site (founded in 1996) with a great reputation. With nearly 300,000 members over 40 in the US alone (26,000 in Canada, 41,000 in the UK), you're not going to have difficulty finding someone in your area in the age range you're after.
If you click on "Browse" you'll see a listing of all the countries Senior FriendFinder covers, and how many people are enrolled in each province or state, or country.

This is a good feature, as you can view how many available singles are in your area before enrolling for a free membership.

This openness about membership numbers is refreshing, to say the least. It's hard to tell if some sites have any members, let alone hundreds of thousands!

Given a choice, we vote for hundreds of thousands.

Part of the Friend Finder Network, this site's been online since 1996, and has over 400,000 members in over-40 category alone. This Friend Finder site offers good value for money to the senior single, and a plethora of features on their website.

With a free membership on SeniorFriendFinder you can:

  • Search the database for members you like (limited ability to search and view full profiles)
  • Read the onsite blogs
  • Read the onsite magazine
  • Use the chatroom
  • Read and reply to emails (but you can't initiate contact). However, paying members can opt to let free members have unlimited contact with them.
  • Read and reply to Instant Messages (you can't initiate contact).

  • SeniorFriendFinder has a huge membership (over 400,000 members over 40).
  • There's lots to do on the site: with chat, instant messaging, a magazine, and member blogs.
  • The site demands a valid (verifiable) email address to join.
  • Online magazine: there are multiple articles on first dates, dating safety, etc., to which members can contribute.
  • Onsite blogs, to which standard (free) members can contribute as well.
  • Verified member option (where members can opt to supply ID to prove their identity).

We like:

SeniorFriendFinder is a well established, well respected site with a large pool of potential partners to choose from.

The ability to browse countries, and to see how many members there are in each city/area is invaluable.

Free members can access more features than on most dating sites.

We don't like:
