Senior Dater or just Choosy?

by Penny
(Breezewood, PA)

When I approached the big 4-0, dating became a bit scarier.

There are way too many theories out there. Do this, don't do that. And let's not forget the titles we come into, "cougar" if your guy is a bit younger, or "old maid", the worst!

The best advice came from my own mother. She said to me, "You're not on a hunt, you're allowed to be choosy."

In other words, just because I hadn't found the right man yet, doesn't mean he isn't still out there.

I'm fine being alone, I'm successful, have many hobbies, pets, and I feel the men I have dated in my 20's and 30's didn't work out then, and wouldn't now.

I have a new maturity about me, and I embrace it.

I am happy, and fulfilled. Mr. Right may still be out there, but I'm very patient.

I don't feel pressure to look younger, or act younger. I feel that my Mr. Right will like me as I am!
