Randy Travis - Forever and Ever Amen

One of my favorite country music love songs is "Forever and Ever Amen" by Randy Travis.

Besides being a "catchy tune", in my opinion, the lyrics are simple, yet powerful. The song always reminds me of something that happened in my family.

My cousin was completely infatuated with a girl he met at a bar one night. So every weekend, he would go to the bar where he met her and try everything he knew to get her attention. Everything he did seem to get him no where. She ignored him. He was about to give up on this girl until one night,he got an idea.

He went to the jukebox and played "Forever and Ever Amen", then he went down and sat right next to the girl and sang the song to her, along with Randy Travis.

After the song was over, the girl smiled at him and asked him to sit down and have a drink with her....

They have been married for 15 years this month.

My favorite country music love song is "Forever and Ever, Amen" by Randy Travis.

The reason being is that it's mine and my husband of two year's song.

It became our song when my husband, Bobby, started singing it to me in the middle of Wal Mart.

Since then, every time we hear the song, we both sing along, loudly and more than likely off key, but, hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

One other reason this is my favorite country music song is because I love the lyrics, which are beautiful and poetic, in my humble opinion. Oh, not to mention that Randy Travis has a beautiful singing voice, and you can actually feel the emotion he put into the song when he sings it.

My favorite line in the song is "as long as old men sit and talk about the weather, as long as old women sit and talk about old men," because I grew up in a small southern town (I'm not originally from new Jersey) and it's so true!
