Pleasantly Surprised

Let's face it. The world does not embrace plus sized women. Diets and exercise gadgets are rampant. Models starve themselves and even the thinnest women want to lose 10 more pounds. On top of that, the older we get, the more we hear about ways to appear younger. Lotions, creams and cosmetic surgery are commonplace attempts to remain forever young.

So being a plus sized, older single woman is like having two strikes against you before you even start the dating game. Or at least that was what I had been led to believe! However, when I found myself in that situation, I was in for a pleasant surprise.

The internet introduced me to the possibility that I could be a big, beautiful woman and that there were men out there who would want to be with me. I have to admit, that was a new concept for me. I began my single life with a few internet searches. I found more than one reputable dating site that allowed me to specify not only my own body type, but also the type of men I found attractive.

That weeded out a lot of men who would have a problem with my weight - and there were some rude ones out there who did have a problem with my size. But once I got past that hurdle, it has been a lot of fun meeting new men.

For me, the internet opened the door to a world of men I did not know existed. I am happy to say that I have met a very special man. He loves me just the way I am - a big, beautiful, mature woman!
