Online Dating Profiles - What Men WantOnline Dating Profiles - Tips for WomenOnline dating profiles, done right, can get you the man of your dreams. If you do them right. Men want to know what you’re interested in, what makes you tick. Give subtlety a miss and tell them what you’re like and what sort of man you’re after. Offer specific examples of how you spent your time, rather than just listing the usual, “I like sports, travel, and reading.” I skydive from the Empire State Building every October and then climb back up and do it all over again. Naked. Something like that, only with a grain of truth to it :) Use specific examples (like above) of things you enjoy doing. Instead of saying "I like walking", instead describe your ideal hike (and hiking companion!) Write as though you're describing yourself to a friend. What makes you unique? Just tell the truth. If you fib it's practically guaranteed that you'll end up meeting the chap and really liking him. Then you'll be in trouble. You can always lose that fifteen pounds you erased from your profile, but fibbing about things like your age, job, children, or the fact that you're not really Supreme Ruler of the Universe may backfire on you. If you're NOT low maintenance, don't claim to be. The first time you spend three hours getting ready for a movie date will give the game away :) The point is to let your personality shine through and grab him with a witty or provocative headline and entertaining real-life information about you. Although he probably doesn't need to hear how much you love your crockpot. Or how much you hate your ex. Delete any and all traces of emotional baggage from your profile. If you're witty and funny you will attract like-minded men. Just remember that if lame jokes turn you off, they'll do the same to men reading your profile. Don't force the humour if it doesn't come naturally to you. But if you're a bit of a goofball, that can be charming. If you want to attract your ideal match online, write a profile that would attract you if you were a guy. Remember that men are human too, and are usually after the same things in life that you are. Your profile is a “mini-me” version of you. Make sure it really reflects who you are, and you’ll have a better chance of attracting someone who really complements your interests and values.
