In some ways it’s even more important than your picture. Yes, the photo personals bit is an important element in attracting a potential date’s attention, but if the profile doesn’t match up, they’ll quickly move on to someone else.

Be unique, be descriptive, try not to sound like everyone else.

Put yourself into your ad, tell them why you like horse-riding, or scuba diving, or running, not just that you do it. Show, don’t tell. Use a headline that stops other members in their tracks. Be funny and let your personality shine through.

Don’t write a novel. Be witty, original and concise, and watch your grammar and spelling.
