Nat King Cole released his version of this classic love song in 1957. The song has been recorded by Johnny Mathis, Celine Dion, Rick Astley, and the Pet Shop Boys, among others.

Cole was a life-long fighter for civil rights, and was the first black person to host his own show on US network television in 1956. He was also an avid smoker, and died of lung cancer in 1965, at the age of 45.
