I knew there was something special about you from the start at our happenstance first meeting.

I was a local to the area, walking by, and you were looking for help in finding some businesses. After helping you I thought that would be the last I saw of you, yet the very next day we ran into each other again. There were friends with you, but I was still happy to help and afterward we traded numbers.

Over time our friendship was quickly founded. That friendship meant more than I could ever express properly in words. We went through so much together. Laughter, heart ache, frustration, and enjoyment. You were always there when I needed a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen, and I did all I could for you in return.

Before I realized it time had turned to years. I felt so shy despite knowing you for so long and so well. To be honest I still feel shy. It took a long time for me to find the moment and way to tell you how I felt. That you meant more to me than just being my best friend.

You caught me and my self-doubting self by surprise when you told me you had feelings for me first.

To say my heart soared would be an understatement.

I expressed my feelings to you as well, in my shy, timid way, hoping you understood, which you did with all the care and consideration you had always shown me.

Being with you has made me feel so positive and hopeful. That anything negative that may cross our paths can be defeated as we work together. You give me so much strength and confidence.

I'm so happy and proud to be yours and I hope I provide the same warmth and attention you deserve for many more years to come. You mean the world to me. A light I'll always cherish.
