Muslima one of the best and biggest Muslim dating sites, aiming to introduce Muslim singles in a safe environment.

Muslima.com is part of the Cupid Network of sites, with around 500,000-750,000 (sources we found varied as to exact numbers) members registered.

They make you fill in a quite comprehensive questionaire when you first sign up, detailing the usual things (age, physical description, marital status).

You're also asked to detail which branch of Islam you belong to (Sunni, Sufi, Shiite, etc), and the degree to which you practice your faith.

You can specify a similarly detailed range of qualities in the partner you want to meet: age, nationality, ethnicity, smoker or non, children or not, occupation, body type, religion, willingness to relocate, etc.

We did a narrow search of men aged 43-44 with a photo (1000 profiles returned - which seems to be the maximum the site will display), 50-51 (1000 profiles), 60-61 (463 profiles), 70-71 (63 profiles).

So there are lots of men over 40 on this Muslim dating site.

There were 883 women aged between 43-44 with a photo; 383 women aged between 50-51, 63 women aged between 60-61, and 3 women aged 70-71.

So the men outnumber the women on this site, and the number of profiles in each search decline as you increase the age range.

But this gives you an overall indication of the possible numbers of Muslim singles available in the age range you're after.

We like:

This Islamic dating site offers a tour and safety tips before you have to give your email address. After you sign up, their FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)/Help file is easy to access.

You can contact and reply to paid members (using instant messaging and onsite email) without having to pay yourself. This is relatively rare in online dating land.

There are lots of Muslim singles over 40 on this site.

It's easy to switch off your membership from your Member page if you decide to leave Muslima.com.
