Keep an Open Mind

After being single for a year following the dissolution of my marriage of ten years, a friend suggested that I try online dating as a way of testing the waters and getting my feet wet in the dating scene again. I was skeptical to say the least! I tried a few of the online sites, had many dates, some interesting, some scary, some just plain laughable.

I was about to give up hope when I was contacted by a woman who was outside my specified age range, as well as outside of the distance to my location. I was reluctant to even engage in a conversation, but because of the fact that I was so disappointed by my earlier dates, I decided to correspond with her via email. With the pressure off (because I didn't think it could work with the location, age, etc.) we began emailing.

We quickly discovered that beyond the physical attractions we had a tremendous amount in common. As they say, "we clicked". After emailing each other several times a day for a week we then started talking on the phone as well as instant messaging. Needless to say we feel in love with each other before we ever met in person. I found happiness with a person that I would have otherwise never crossed paths with, never even known about if it were not for online dating.
