Send and receive Flirts (up to 30 a day). Flirts are one-liner messages you select from a drop down list.
Make use of the Your Click!® button on each profile, which you can click if you think you'd get on with the other person. If a mutual Click occurs, you'll be notified of a match.
Read the message board
Read and reply to Instant Messages (although you can't initiate).

There's lots to do on site: message board, instant messaging, chatrooms, onsite magazine.
JMag is written by and aimed at the Jewish single. Personals advice, dating safety and feature articles make it an interesting read. It also includes submissions by members of the J Dates site.

We like:

This is a well organized Jewish dating service, with a large, active over-40 membership. There were nearly 16,000 members online when we first logged on.

J Date organizes lots of “real world” Jewish single events and encourages its members to get involved in charity work. They also organize Jewish single travel adventures around the world.

The male/female ratio is 50/50 on this Jewish single personals site and 47% of their members are over the age of 36. Most are urban professionals living in big cities.

We don’t like:

The default search function (by zip or postcode) limits you to within 160 miles of your town or city (although you can get around that by selecting to seach by city).

It’s easier to use the Photo gallery, which lets you search by country.

Still, that’s not major, and if you’re looking to branch into the world of Jewish single personals, there are lots of Jewish singles over 40 on J Date. This is a nice site, with nice members, who look like they’re all having a whale of a time.
