Hi. I am 42 years old and of African American descent.

I was always of the mind set that I should date a person who is of the same race as me. I totally rejected the idea of having to date a person who was not of African American descent.

However, many failed and broken relationships made me take a decision to try and broaden my horizons. I enrolled on an interracial dating website and went on several dates with people from different backgrounds-white Americans, Indians, French people to name a few.

It was unique meeting them. There were a lot of cultural differences but it was fun. My last relationship was with a French guy whom I dated for about an year before breaking up due to visa related problems.

My current boyfriend is of white American descent and we have been in a serious commitment for the past two years now. My parents do know about this and are very supportive. I haven't experienced racism in my dating life and yes I can confidently say that I have found a suitable man for me through this site and met other nice people too.
