It's Been Eleven Years...

Dear Elizabeth,

It has been about eleven years since we broke up, and a lot has happened to me since.

I have been married for the past seven to a beautiful woman named Susan. We have been together for ten years, and have two amazing children, Emma and Pearce (ages four and one).

I remember when we broke up after being together for four years, I thought that I'd never be happy again.

Well, as I write this, I can't tell you how great my life has turned out.

And now, I hope the same can be said for you.

I actually think of you often, and sometimes wondered, "what if WE had of gotten married." How would it have turned out, would I be as happy as I am now, etc. But then I think of what I have, and I stop thinking about it. I'll probably never see your face again, but I do have it etched in my memory. Some of the things we used to do, your smile and laugh. And then I think of the times you cried, and hope you haven't had much of that since we broke up.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I hope your life has turned out like mine. But I wanted to thank you for the wonderful years we spent together.

I really did love you with all of my heart, and thought we'd be together forever.

But since that didn't happen, no many where you go, I'll always care about you, and have a special place in my heart for you.

You were very special to me, and I'll never forget you.
