It Will Never Be the Same

I thought I had the perfect guy, until one day I got a call.

It was one of those heart-stopping, stomach-in-throat calls that you get when something horrible has happened. He had called me to say that he had taken his ex-girlfriend in the back of his car. Twice.

He was telling me because the girl had confessed to her best friend, my sister. I am a 124 pound girl, and his ex-girlfriend was a 300+ pound girl with a bad attitude and who I can barely imagine fitting in the back of his car.

After a month of apologies, and several more months without touching me, it didn't get better.

We are still together, but our relationship will never be the same.

There are still times, even after months and years have passed, when I see someone who looks like her.

I still cry, and there won't be any way to fix that. He has been faithful since, though I know he won't forget it any more than I will.
