I was Devastated

I've been cheated on, I was devastated.

I was at a medical meeting with my husband (well he WAS my husband), there was a woman there who just wanted to talk with him constantly. Every time I looked round there she was talking with him.

I thought it was a bit much but at the same time I felt that maybe I was over-reacting so I put it to the back of my mind.

In the weeks after that meeting my husband changed. He would pick up on every little thing I said or did and suddenly nothing I did was right. I don't like arguments but when I tried to speak to him about this he would just get so mad and accuse me of causing trouble.

He became distant, from always hugging me and telling me he loved me, he gradually withdrew physical contact and I couldn't understand it because I'd done nothing. I pointed it out and he told me I was silly and nothing had changed.

This went on for a few weeks then one day at work a parcel arrived for him and written on the package was "smile post". I looked at the post mark and recognised this as the town this woman was from, funnily enough the only things I knew about her were her name and where she lived.

Almost instinctively I knew it was from her and so I did something I've never done before, I opened his mail. Inside was a book, some candies and a card about how much she loved meeting with him in London.

I was stunned, he'd been to a medical meeting in London the week before and I'd been in the office all day working and picked him up from the train that night. He told me the meeting was very good. Again I did the unthinkable for me I read his mobile texts and what I found confirmed my worst fears. There had been no medical meeting, he had met her in London, while I sat in his office working for him he was in London with her.


I confronted him there and then and of course he denied it all so I took his mobile and walked out of his office. I called her workplace and since she was out to lunch I told her workmates what she was doing.

I called her home and left a message on her answerphone explaining who I was and told her to stop her affair with my husband. I don't know if he did but I hoped her husband would pick the message up before her.

She called my husband's phone but I had it so I asked her what she thought she was doing and she had the nerve to tell me she was not happy at me calling her work.

Later that day my husband and I had the most almighty row. I was absolutely devastated and all he could say was that it was no big deal, it was only about the sex.

Well I always said I'd never forgive a man who cheated on me, he thought I would but he found out I am a stronger woman than he ever gave me credit for.

Now I am single and couldn't be happier.

Him? well who knows what he is doing now, but one thing's for sure if he has another woman he'll cheat on her too.
