I Want to Hold Your Hand - The Beatles

My favorite love song is "I Want to Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles.

It reminds me of a summer when I was 15 and the first guy I had a big crush on. I spent most of that summer at a lake near my parent's house. David was 16 and lived a couple houses down from my best friend Sheila. He had long blond hair and a great tan.

David was friends with Shelia's brother so he was always around the house, and the two of us hit it off immediately. All of us kids used to walk to the lake every morning along a mile of old railroad tracks in upstate New York.

At the lake, people would play the jukebox with the disco hits from that summer but I preferred the older Beatles songs.

After a day in the water, we would sometimes walk back late in the evening after watching the sun set. I still remember holding David's hand as we purposely fell behind the rest of the group.

I lost touch with David after I went back to school in September, but I still think of him whenever I hear "I Want to Hold Your Hand."
