I use Black Dating Sites, but I wouldn't tell my parents

My experiences are much different, because I am forty, have two children, and have never been married. That was unheard of in my parents' era.

I'm not looking for someone to marry and have children with. Instead I want a partner, someone I can enjoy and experience life with. I haven't experienced much ageism while internet dating. I make my age clear, and the age of whom I'm looking for.

My family doesn't know I'm on a dating site, and likely wouldn't approve. They are not the most computer savvy, and on top of that, would see this as a desperate action. I see it instead as a vehicle to meet a broader range of people.

I am meeting some good friends on black dating sites. I think black dating sites help when searching online for a mate, because you can select the same interests, lifestyles, and find people of color as well. I haven't dealt with much racism in my daily life, but have dealt with a bit of colorism. My online dating though for the most part has been just as satisfactory as finding dates offline.
