Online dating statistics tell us that up to 30% of people using dating websites are married and cheating. Some are after physical relationships, while others indulge in what they may think is a relatively innocent flirtation, with no intention of physically connecting with the people they meet online.

But seemingly innocent flirting can lead to an online relationship that becomes an emotional affair.

This damages the cheater’s existing relationship, and risks breaking your heart and seriously wasting your time.

Emotional Cheating Hurts Everyone

Online cheating can hurt everybody involved, even a relationship that’s strictly an “affair of the mind”.

If light-hearted online flirtation is all you’re after, then you may not feel you need to worry about emotional cheating (in terms of getting your heart broken, anyway).

But if you’re intent on finding the love of your life, the existence of internet cheating is something you need to be aware of. Not all people using dating sites are single, or even honourable.
