Daughter as Matchmaker
by Roxanne
Dating at 42, just seems a whole lot different then it did when I was 23, and looking to find Mr.Right. I was divorced, shortly before my 42nd birthday and I have no idea how, to even go about dating again. I have been on a few dates, and with really nice gentlemen. I just don't know what to say or do, during the down, quiet moments. Sometimes, those moments make me quickly realize that I'm just not that interested in the guy. When I do realize that, it really bums me out. I feel like I have hit a road block. A few days ago, My daughter of all people, tells me she wants to introduce me to someone. His name is Micheal, he is 49 and owns the woman's clothes store she works in. In other words, he's her boss. Already it screamed danger, don't do it. My daughter was determined, she would not let up. I agreed, it's her job on the line, if worse came to worse. So, Last night I went on the date with Micheal. I met him at a place called Lulu's, and as soon as I walked in, it seemed like a Bar full of young people. I waited for a good ten minutes before a very distinguished gorgeous man came up to ask me for my drink order.I thought, wow! this place is looking up already, and I also remember thinking, he's a bit old to be a waiter in a place like this. So, I watched him, he slid over the top of the bar like a pro,and started making up my drink himself, at that same moment, he looked up at me with a sly grin, and winked.I know I was ten different shades of red when I quickly looked away. I needed to stay focused, and remember I was here for...Micheal. Where the heck was he?? I was starting to get a little upset by this time, what kind of guy makes a lady wait for a half hour. When I looked back toward the door, Mr. Man from the bar laid a napkin in front of me, and set my drink down, I looked up at this beautiful man to thank him, when he extended his arm and said, Hi, My name is Micheal, and I'm assuming you're Roxanne. I swear I almost spilled my drink all over myself. I smiled and extended my hand to greet his. I also mentioned how I thought he was a waiter, he laughed and said, "Nah, I own the place" We had a beautiful evening, and are expecting to do it again tonight. All I have to say is...God bless my daughter.
