Anti Aging Skin CareAnti Aging Skin Care – Is it Really Worth It?We say yes to anti aging skin care – because we’re into aging gracefully… but extreeeemely slowly. And we’re also a bit cheap. Which is where we run into a potential hitch in our anti aging regime.
We want to look good for our online dating photos (and on real life dates, of course), but don't want to spend a bundle doing so. The anti aging cream and moisturiser manufacturers take consumers for billions each year. Some of these products do work, but mostly we’re just buying into a dream. Simply dab some co-enzyme Q-10 cream infused with seaweed and caviar chunks onto your crow’s feet and you’ll be instantly dewy and twenty years younger. And all for only $200. Or more. The canny and frugal amongst us buy the fabulous, glossily packaged new thing once, and then refill the pretty bottle with inexpensive alternatives, several of which can offer superb results. Our favourite anti aging skin care products are jojoba oil and emu oil. They’re fabulous moisturisers and are both excellent if you’re seeking an effective, yet frugal adult acne treatment.
Wrinkles and zits. Like that's a good combination.
Jojoba Oil: Acne, Wrinkles, Dry and Dehydrated Skin Begone
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil mimics human sebum, and encouraging skin to retain the moisture it already has, while acting as an extremely efficient, non-irritating moisturiser. It doesn’t block pores, and doesn’t promote breakouts. It’s cheap, lasts a long time (a few drops are all you need to do your whole face), and can help normalise even the touchiest skin.
Jojoba oil has been known to help extremely dehydrated skin, acne (it’s especially good for adult acne), and other dermatological maladies. It’s a bit of a wonder moisturiser, but isn’t expensive and is a natural product, so the big beauty companies have no motive to promote it as an effective anti aging skin care regimen (unless it’s an ingredient in their $200 cream, of course!)
You should be able to find jojoba oil
Which is nice.
Your mother told you to moisturise.
Emu Oil: Acne, Dehydrated skin, Psoriasis, Eczema, and Arthritis Pain Begone
Emu Oil
Emu oil is gaining fame for its all-round healing properties. Like jojoba oil, it’s a fabulous moisturiser, but is also becoming known for its ability to help conditions like acne, eczema, psoriasis, and can even help alleviate arthritis pain when rubbed into joints. Emu oil has healing properties that still aren’t completely understood by scientists. The oil has an ability to penetrate into the deepest layers of the skin, and has rejuvenating properties that repair skin and kill pain. Which is a good property to have if you intend to use it in your skin care regime, and also have a touch of arthritis (or are a bit of a hypochondriac and now feel you’re developing arthritis). Anti aging skincare and pain relief in one package. Hey, killing two birds…
Again, emu oil
A few drops will be enough to moisturise your face. If you pour it lavishly into your bath, then your cost per use may go up a wee bit. Emu oil is becoming much more popular in the US, Canada, and the UK, so you should be able to find it in better pharmacies, drug stores, and health food stores. If you’re looking for a long-term, inexpensive moisturiser that will give you good, clear, wrinkle-free skin, you’d do worse than to try either (or both) of these products. They each have the capacity to turn problem skin into normal skin.
And make normal skin beautiful.
