Amor com is a Latino dating site that's been online since 1995. It has over 2 million members across many countries.

You can click on a city near you to view limited profiles before you're required to log in or give your email address. Just click on Map at the bottom of their home page.

Although Amor.com is aimed at the Hispanic single, anyone can join who has a love of Latin culture.

There were over 800 members online when we first logged in (on a Tuesday night at about 11.00pm).

We always do a very narrow age search on dating sites; if lots of results are returned, then it's a good indication that there are lots in that age range generally.

The Amor.com site will only display 300 searches at a time, but we found 300 men (with photos) each time we searched, aged 43-44, 54-55, 64-65, and thirty-three men aged 74-75. So there are plenty of men over 40 on this site.

One thing to note, the search function will automatically default to your home province, state, preferences, etc unless you tell it not to. This shouldn't be a problem for you, as you're likely to be searching locally. But if you're going more global, make sure you use the advanced search function.

There were 300 results returned each time for women aged 43-55, 54-55, 64-65, and sixty nine ladies aged 74-75.

So Amor com is a good choice if mixing latin love with older dating is your aim.

You fill in quite a detailed multiple choice questionaire when you first sign up, the usual hair, eye and body type, ethnic back ground, smoker or not, whether you want kids or not, occupation, religion, education. You can even put in which university and high school you attended. So you're assured of a certain level of profile completeness on the part of all members.

There are lots of older single members (over 40). The Amor online site has a fairly narrow search result display (only 300 results are returned per search) made it a bit difficult to pinpoint exact numbers, but with nearly 2 million members, you can be fairly sure there are enough people in your preferred age range.

You can control all communication you receive from your account page (which email and IM notifications you get, etc).

There's a fairly comprehensive FAQ/Help section once you've signed up.

We had a match in our inbox within a few minutes of signing in, and he was within a reasonable distance.

We don’t like:

It would be nice to see exactly how many members there are in each specific age group, instead of just telling us that there are more than 300.
