A Talker? Moi?

My worst date ever happened after I had gotten divorced from my husband of ten years. I was extremely nervous to be dating again, since I really had never done it for a long period of time in the first place.

I was fixed up with a friend of a friend, so I knew as much as I could possibly know about the guy before the date took place. When he came to pick me up, I was at first pleasantly surprised at how normal he seemed. He was attractive, had great manners, and had a decent personality.

What I did not realize was that he never stopped talking! He talked during the car ride to the restaurant, he talked during dinner, he talked on the way to the theater. He even talked DURING the performance. I had never known anyone to have so many stories and so much to say about himself. He told me about his childhood, his schooling, his countless jobs, his friends and family, and he even told me about his medical conditions.

At one point, I completely tuned him out, and when he asked if I’d agreed with whatever he was saying, I said sure. I had no idea that he was talking about going on another date. Suffice it to say, I later came up with an excuse to not go on that second date, but for the rest of the evening, he thought he had made quite a great impression on me!
