A MySpace Romance

I actually did experience finding love on the internet. As cliché as it sounds, it happened on Myspace. Someone had been bothering me through messages talking about how they liked my hair and what not. I was dating my boyfriend at the time that I had been with for the past four years. When I received the messages I just ignored them. After being cheated on and having a fall out with my boyfriend I had responded to one of the messages just through curiosity.

We would talk on and off randomly through messages. It was someone a few years older but who lived about twenty minutes from me. He said he had found me on a mutual friend’s page. I never even looked through his pictures until it got to the point where we exchanged phone numbers. He was alright looking, nothing special… I talked to my closest friend about it at the time and she had agreed to come with me to meet this mystery man. I had never met anyone off the internet before but we hit it off so well I just felt compelled to meet him.

When we met it was awkward but funny enough my close friend and his (who he also brought with him) hit it off which helped the situation. After meeting and continuously talking we actually found that we were very compatible with one another and started officially dating.

I only used the website to find old friends from college and find it funny to this day that out of random I met my future husband. We have been together for 6 years and 3 months and it has been the best relationship I have ever been in.
