A Bad Day at Work

It was only lunchtime, and I already knew that today was the most awful day I'd ever had at work. One of those days where you can't do anything right. I sent a frustrated little text message to my boyfriend saying, "today is the worst!" expecting a cheeky reply back to cheer me up.

What I got instead was a box of chocolates and a bouquet of wildflowers when he came to pick me up, even though he works an hour away from me, and I had caught the train in that day. I was just blown away! I didn't think he had any more romantic gestures left in him for the day, but as he drove us home he diverted to the park near to the house for an impromptu picnic, replete with champagne (my favourite!) and homemade pasta.

It was so lovely, and so unexpected, but what I love about that date most of all is that it showed me even after 3 years how much he still loved me.
